There are many questions you should ask a fitness expert. Here are some of the most frequent questions we get, and that you should be asking before joining any fitness centre.


Who can benefit from a personal trainer?

Everyone can benefit from working with a personal trainer! Whether you are new to exercise, have been told by the doctor that you need to increase your physical activity, or are an experienced gym enthusiast. I am the trainer for you! My strong education in human anatomy, exercise physiology and advanced resistance training will ensure that your time is spent effectively. With direction, guidance and support, your goals can become a reality at a much quicker pace than if you were doing it all on your own.


What types of programs are there?

- Exercise prescription (weight loss, body building, health changes, lifestyle counselling, fitness program design, strength and conditioning)
- Sport-specific training
- Exercise for all ages
- Post rehab exercise training


How often do I need to see a trainer?

That is really up to each client individually, based on their needs. Those who struggle with adherence, may want to see their trainer on a regular basis to help them stay on track. Others may receive their exercise prescription and only need monthly visits to fine tune program and try new challenges.


Where are consultations with the trainer held?

Consultations can be held at the Vivacity Fitness facility which contains free weights, pulley system, smith machine, bench press and treadmill. The trainer can also go to your home (email for quote) or go to the gym of your choice with you (applicable gym drop-in fees likely apply and client is responsible to cover those).


Personal Training Policies

- Cancellations less than 24 hours require full appointment payment
- Clients 15 minutes late or more will result in forfeit of appointment at cost of full payment. It is respectful to the trainer and the clients they have after you, for you to be 5 - 10 minutes early and ready to go at time of appointment.

How many people can attend an exercise class?

Have you ever been to an exercise class and felt like you were a sardine in a can? Bumping into other people and barely enough room to move? You will not have this type of negative experience at Vivacity Fitness. We pride ourselves in keeping class sizes small, so each individual can get feedback and attention from our great instructors! Our 1000 square foot studio space will ensure that you have the room you need to enjoy the class!

Register early! This is the only way to guarantee yourself a spot! We also pride ourselves in a keeping clean facility and washrooms, offer clients free parking (also access via transit) and water during their classes.


Can I come watch the class before I try it?

We respect the privacy of our clients and to ensure this we do not allow people to watch our classes. Clients are welcome to pay a drop-in  rate and try out the class before committing to the session.


Do I need to bring any equipment to class with me?

Please bring a water bottle, clean indoor shoes, and yoga mat (don’t have one...don’t worry we extras!).
